Commandment #3 - I have given you a wonderful gift....

Happy THROWBACK Friday Admin Team!   It feels like the 80's and 90's here in the office this morning.  Steve is signing Billy Ocean's "Suddenly" and I am stuck in movie land from the 90's!  

    

With that said, I will attempt to blog!

God has given us a wonderful gift, His name!  He has allowed us, (like Steve said) a back stage pass to reality and eternity with His name on it!  Makes me think of this old clip from Wayne's World where Wayne and Garth have back stage passes to an Alice Cooper show and they don't know how to handle themselves.

God tell us, "Don't carry the wonderful gift of my name like it is empty and not powerfully important! You have incredible "nuclear" power in the gift of my name.  Don't treat my name like it is a lady finger firework! (Can't say fireworks without this clip!) 

We carry God's name in vain when we think we can get God to do something or move in a specific way by using His name in a certain way.  We usually violate this in prayer!  Can't help but think of Fletch 2! 

 

  My take away from the sermon is this.......PRAY MORE REID, AND WHEN YOU DO...REALIZE WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT OF GOD'S NAME YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN!
