DJ’s exhortation that we call on God and DJ’s rationale that
calling on the name of Jahweh is “the highest form of honor we give God” brought
to my mind this scripture written by Paul to the Ephesians:
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of
prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying
for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for
me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make
known the mystery of the gospel, for
which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I
should.”
DJ’s message helps me
see that intimate, ongoing prayer has unimaginably profound roots in some of
the most substantive and consequential historical moments in God’s story.
I’ve always seen prayer as an invaluable weapon/tool
(Ephesians 6) in our armor (Ephesians 6.)
I’ve also always seen prayer as a crazy grace-drenched all access back
stage pass to God’s throne as His children.
This week’s sermon helped me appreciate that prayer, in addition to being a powerful weapon and providing insane too good to be true access to God, also connects us to some of the most ancient, fundamental, and sacred texts regarding honoring God.

I love your description of prayer as an all access pass!
