The name "I Am" as DJ describes it is what really stuck out to me, the most powerful all encompassing name! Just like a person who is called by name feels known, God also wants to be known by name by His sons and daughters. Therefore do not use the name in vain, and instead use it with the honor and authority that He deserves. I Am is there always in all pretenses; was, is, and is to come. DJ explains the beauty of the name so greatly, it gave me such clear precise instruction on how to properly use our God's name, and in what context I would be using it as a disgrace to God Himself.
One point DJ made that I could potentially see as a fault in my own walk with God was the topic of living in accordance to the name. Honestly, there are times and moments in my walk where I have misused the name of God by not living a holy life. And I know there will be more times in life where I mess up. The intentions in those moments were never to disregard God, however that is what I was doing. The realization that the way that I live is being watched by nonbelievers makes me all the more eager to proclaim His name louder as I trust and follow Him in every situation. LORD, Yahweh, give me wisdom, knowledge, discernment and understanding to know more the fullness of your name. Help me not to stumble into a place where I may disregard you in any way by how I live my life.
Maddie, thanks for being vulnerable about how this sermon connects to your own life. I totally relate in reflecting and realizing some of my actions were not in line with glorifying God. It's such a good thing to remember moving forward.
