This past sermon, as well as everyone's awesome insight and perspectives, definitely resonated with me and caused me to look back to this past summer. I loved what Katy had to say with the phrase, "you never graduate from Jesus school"..I too fall into the category of skipping right by and not diving into a deeper understanding of Jesus' love because I have heard the phrase "Jesus loves you" and it tends to go in one ear and out the other. Rather, that's what I should be waiting upon and soaking up the most!! Jesus' love surpasses understanding which can be hard at times but overall comforting!
I loved it when DJ discussed how having footsteps of faith leads to a friendship with God, just like Abraham and Sarah...a FRIENDSHIP! So cool! It was super interesting for me to hear DJ talk about how every action and experience we place ourselves in involves faith..faith manifests itself around our whole life, especially in our friendship with the living God! The question is not will I exercise faith??? The question is in what or in whom will I exercise faith...it's about Faith in Christ by throwing myself upon Him, the Lamb, that's what walking by faith is all about..I tend to usually exercise faith in myself and my own control, which in turn places a hold on a deeper intimate friendship with God.
I am learning and always reminded of how I need to fully trust God in each moment of every day. In doing so, and dying to myself, step by step i will get to know Jesus more and in turn understand who i am!
